 Peninsula School District was notified on May 10, 2018, that Mr. Rand Wilhelmsen has resigned from the School Board, leaving a Director District 3 vacancy.

The district is soliciting applications, or letters of interest addressing topics in the application, from residents who are interested in filling the unexpired term representing District 3. To be qualified to serve on the Board of Directors, an applicant must:
1.  Be at least 18 years of age;
2.  Be a registered voter;
3.  Reside within the legal description of Director District 3; and
4.  Be a United States citizen.

In addition to the legal qualifications for the position, the candidates should meet as many of the following criteria as possible:
*  Be a committed advocate for public education of all students at all grade levels;
*  Be a willing and accessible communicator with citizens of our district regarding public education, both in general and specific to our district; and
*  Be able to attend regular Board meetings.

The successful appointee will complete the remaining term of the vacancy through the November 2019 election, and will be encouraged to consider running in the election.

The Board of Directors will be accepting applications or letters of interest through 4:00 p.m. on June 28, 2018. The Board will conduct interviews of qualified applicants the week of July 9, 2018.

The interviews and final selection process will be done during an open, public meeting. The successful candidate will take the Oath of Office at the following regular School Board meeting.
